Xperia Z1 mini specs leak, aka Z1 f

Remember a little while back we showed you the photo below of the Sony Xperia Z1 mini spotted in the wild? Well another picture has just surfaced, this time in a product catalog from Japanese mobile carrier NTT DoCoMo, although it is now apparently going to be called the Xperia Z1 f. Sony sure does like to give official names to things we've been calling something else all along (remember Honami?), but a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, and call it what you will, the Z1 f looks to be a pocket rocket.

The full catalog specs are below, but the only changes compared to the previous specs we'd reported are pretty minor: the CPU clock speed has changed from 2.3 GHz to 2.2 GHz and the battery has lost 100 mAh in capacity from 2,400 mAh to 2,300 mAh...and, well, that's it. The rest is just as impressive as the full-sized original: 20.7 MP camera, 2 GB RAM, same connectivity and dust/water resistance standards (IP55/58). The Z1 f will feature a 720p display at 4.3-inches as well as expandable memory.

Processor Quad-Core Snapdragon 800, 2.2 GHz
Display 4.3-inch LCD (1.280 x 720 pixels), 341 ppi
Rear Camera 20.7 MP 1/2.3" f2.0 Sony G Lens
Front Camera 2 MP
Internal Memory 16 GB + microSD Slot (with more options likely)
Battery 2,300 mAh
Dimensions 127 x 64.9 x 9.4 mm

While the image could be fake, it seems highly probable this is legit, and if so, confirms the Z1 f as what will be the most powerful mini smartphone out there, with possible exception to the new iPhone 5s. Finally, smartphone owners who like smaller screens with high end specs will have an alternative to an iPhone. If these specs are true, the Z1 f will achieve something that HTC failed to deliver with the HTC One mini and Samsung failed to do with the S3 mini and S4 mini – deliver a mini flagship that is mini only in size. Having said that, these top-notch specs will keep the price right up there with it's full sized sibling though.

When do you think the Z1 f will launch? Are you in the market for a high-end, small-screened powerhouse? What would you pay for it?

I think that's a very conservative estimate HT! I think this will be the most expensive mini device out there (for good reason) and won't end up being all that much cheaper than the full sized version.

I'd pay 300 to 350 $ for it no more but I guess it at least deserves that...
