OnePlus 6: what do the fans and experts think?

Last week was quite busy for journalists and tech fans. Both OnePlus and Honor presented their new top of the line offerings in London. As soon as Carl Pei got off the stage after the OnePlus 6 launch, we went around the venue asking journalists, YouTubers and OnePlus fans about their first impressions of the new flagship. Here's the result!

What do you think of the OnePlus 6?

At the OnePlus 6 launch event, which took place at the Copper Box Arena at the Olympic Park in London, we asked the opinions of fans of the brand, journalists and YouTubers (including Mrwhosetheboss and Karl Conrad).

These are the three questions we posed to each of them:

  • What do you think of the OnePlus 6?
  • What is the feature that you like best?
  • What don't you like about the successor to the OnePlus 5/5T?

The new flagship of the Chinese manufacturer seems to please at first glance, especially in the Silk White variant, in addition to being particularly pleasant to the touch. OnePlus has packed in some updated hardware components and has distinguished the newcomer from its predecessor with its looks, too.

The choice of glass seems to impress, even if it gets covered in fingerprints all too easily. Not to mention it still manages to lack wireless charging for no apparent reason despite having a glass back.

What was most appreciated by the respondents was the design, in addition to the speedy performance promised by the specs, namely the Snapdragon 845 processor supported by 6 / 8 GB of RAM.

The notch was mentioned several times, in addition to the device not having a certification for protection against water, and in some cases, the too-large diagonal measurement of 6.28 inches.

It's your turn: What do you think of the OnePlus 6? Do you have a favorite (or least favorite) new feature?

I wish it had an always-on display.

  • I just got a OnePlus 6 midnight black, first 18 hours impressions(upgrade from Nexus 6p). The glass back seems to allow for enhanced reception and higher speeds, I both wifi and phone networks.( I move through a lot of weak zones on my average workday, and many areas that have been problems aren't as bad. I am not a phone camera afficianodo. Most pics I take are with a DSLR, and have not spent time evaluating the camera. I like the screen other than being narrower than my Nexus, the phone is quick(my Nexus suffered the bootloop issue and I had to use the fix that took 4 of the processors offline. If I have a complaint it's that there has been no holster case immediately available (been using a unicorn beetle pro). I like the user I, it's clean compared to many phones out there.

  • I will buy it if it doesnt have a notch. I bought S9 instead. I will wait until OP remove the notch and add stereo speakers before i buy their products.

I don't care for it. I simply don't trust their engineering record. And the design itself is glam for stupid reasons.

    • What do you get for 529.00? A decent camera, OLED display, oxygen OS, a headphone jack, dash charging which is the best. I consider it a speed demon, very fast. Where are you going to get the 845processer for this kind of money. What do consumer's like the best, save money. Sure it's missing a few premium features but again the price is right!
