The Motoleaks are moving forward: recently detailed images were seen, revealing the design of the Moto G7 in its four variants. Now, the Brazilian manufacturer's website published a complete list with all the specifications of the new device, no less than two weeks in advance. This time, the flow of information is ahead of Motorola, which in turn is ahead of the MWC 2019 to be held soon in Barcelona. Here's the data in question.

The basic Moto G7 has a 6.24-inch screen, with a notch drop style and a resolution of 1,080 x 2,270 pixels. The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. At the back, there is a double camera, including a 12 MP sensor and f/1.8 aperture, and a 5 MP sensor that will capture the depth of field. The battery is 3,000 mAh.

The leak also shows the specifications of the other three variants of the device: the G7 Play, G7 Power and G7 Plus. The specifications are generally similar, but the Play and Power versions have screens with a somewhat lower resolution (729 x 1,512 pixels). On the other hand, the Moto G7 Power lives up to its name with a monumental 5,000 mAh battery. In this way, Motorola aims to cover a wider spectrum of the market, covering different needs in different user groups.

At the moment, the only thing that is not clear about the G7 is its price and availability. Looks like we'll have to wait until February 7th, when the official announcement is made... Unless data is leaked again!

What do you think? Do you like the specifications of the new models?

Presentation before MWC 2019

It's official: Motorola will follow in Samsung's footsteps, presenting its long-awaited new mid-range device, the G7, days before the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona. In this way, the US manufacturer, now in the hands of Chinese company Lenovo, anticipates one of the key events in the industry. Motorola has unveiled its plan through advertising images, inviting the press to an exclusive presentation in São Paulo, Brazil, on February 7 at 9:30 a.m. local time.

New images filter your design

It is now confirmed that the device will be available in four different versions, aimed at reaching a wider group of users. More specifically, the variants will be called: Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7 Play and Moto G7 Power.

As can be seen in the images, the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus versions will integrate a "drop" style notch. Unfortunately, the bottom bezel in both variants is somewhat pronounced, with enough space to accommodate the brand name. On the back, both devices will have a double camera, and a fingerprint reader hidden beneath the traditional brand logo.

On the other hand, the Play and Power variants will have a more classic notch design, going from one of smaller dimensions to one of greater width. Both devices are expected to have a fingerprint reader on the back, as are the G7 and G7 Plus.

A huge screen

The first thing that catches our attention is its large screen, which looks more like a flagship than a mid-range device such as the G7. Compared to its predecessor, it grows to 6.4 inches with Full HD resolution, and then comes the notch. The Motorola One was the first smartphone in the house with the famous notch, and Motorola continues to bet on it, but now with a smaller design in the form of a drop of water that, by the way, remembers the one that will carry in the new OnePlus 6T.

Technical Specifications

In terms of specifications, rumours indicate that the Moto G7 and G7 Plus could be equipped with a SoC Snapdragon 660, while the Moto G7 Play would carry a 14 nm Snapdragon 632 chip. On the other hand, the Power variant would have an integrated Snapdragon 625, and a battery of no less than 5,000 mAh, for a more than competitive autonomy, which could also have a fast charge.

Regarding memory and storage, previous leaks indicated that the device would have 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, but now that we know there are 4 different versions of the smartphone, we could imagine different figures depending on the variant.

Date of presentation and launch

It is now known that the presentation of the new Moto G7 and its variants will take place during the brand's exclusive event on February 7 in São Paulo. Price and market availability are as yet unconfirmed but the rumor mill indicates that the cheapest variant, the G7 Play, would be available from around $170. On the other hand, the G7 Power, the version with the most battery life, would have a starting price of around $240.

I'm gonna have to wait for screen sizes to retreat. This situation just silly

If I had to choose it would be the power model. Why, simple who doesn't want a 5000mamp battery. With the processor it incorporates could be a 3day battery, that would be my choice!

Agreed! Sure feels like Motorola / Lenovo listened to what we liked and didn't like about the G6Plis and E5 Plus .... then made an effort to come back with something better (I don't care for the notch, nor the teardrop, I kind of like what Huawei / Honor did with the punch hole that can become a small transparent bezel - that's one small gripe compared with all the better specs you get !)

I can see a bit of Motorola E5 Plus in these 7th Gen G models (may pick up a G7 Plus when available)👍
