A few weeks before its presentation, the veil is lifted over the Honor View 20. Thanks to a user agent profile posted on its website, we learned the version of Android used by the smartphone and its screen resolution. Today, however, we know more about its specs and price.
Highlight recent changes
It is on January 22nd in Paris that Honor should unveil its new Honor View 20 for the European market. By then, the smartphone should be official in the Chinese market. Will it follow its predecessor, the Honor View 10, into the US market despite Huawei's difficulties? We still don't know, but in the meantime, several elements of its technical data sheet are gradually being revealed.
In addition to the fact that the View 20 should include the latest Kirin 980 processor and that it would be the first phone of the brand with a selfie camera integrated into the screen, the smartphone will include Android Pie 9.We also learn that the device will offer a resolution of 2310 x 1080 pixels. 3C certification also allows us to know that the smartphone will be compatible with the 22.5 watt fast recharge.
The Honor View 20 will debut with the world's first 48MP camera on a smartphone, as long as Xiaomi doesn't arrive first. The Sony IMX586 sensor has a 48 MP resolution and 0.8 micron pixel size and uses a process called Pixel Binning that allows it to combine light data from four adjacent pixels in low light situations, allowing Honor View 20 to create brighter images with less noise.
In addition, thanks to the Kirin 980's dual NPU, the Honor View 20 will also achieve incredible improvements in image processing. According to Honor, this has improved by 134%, presumably compared to the View 10.
On the left, in the upper part of the display, we will find a circular hole of 4.5 mm in diameter in which the front camera will be housed. Although this solution does not offer a small portion of the screen, it would be a better solution than the notch, providing a less invasive solution.

The launch for the European market is scheduled for January 22 in Paris, of course we will be there to bring you all the news announced during the event. We are also curious to see whether it will follow the Honor View 10 into the US market.
No information has yet been leaked concerning the prices of the smartphones in the West even if a leak has brought to light the card expected for the Asian market:
- Honor View 20 6GB/64GB: 2799 yuan (about $406 or 356 euros)
- Honor View 20 6GB/128GB: 3299 yuan (about $480 or 419 euros)
Not bad for a smartphone that can boast of having all the credentials to become the new best buy of the first quarter of 2019. There is no mention of a version with 8GB of RAM, but we hope to see it during the Parisian event.
