After touching our nostalgic hearts with the new version of the Nokia 3310 in 2017, we were all expecting HMD Global to follow up the Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 8 with a new super top-of-the-range model at MWC 2018, and we got one. But instead of the expected Nokia 9, the premium range device in question is in fact called the Nokia 8 Sirocco.
HMD Global made a strong showing at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, presenting a suite of 5 new smartphones, including the much anticipated flagship, which turned out to be the Nokia 8 Sirocco. Even through the name was different from the Nokia 9 we were all excited for, HMD's offering doesn't disappoint.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco managed to impress even in the shadow of the Samsung Galaxy S9, and alongside the nostalgic new version of the Nokia 8110, could signify the start of strong comeback for Nokia under HMD Global.

Below you can find the gathered rumors and leaks concerning the now-mythical Nokia 9.
Rumor history of the Nokia 9
The website Nokia Power User has received two tips one is about the price and release date details. The other concerns the device's technical specifications. The information should be taken with a grain of salt.
The tipster said that the price of the new Nokia 9 will be 749 EUR in European markets. It may be around $699 in the US, and Rs 44999 in India. Given the high-end specs mentioned, these prices seem reasonable, and they are most likely for a 64 GB version, though a 128 GB model may also be released.
Great news for Nokia fans: It looks like the upcoming flagship Nokia 9 will be keeping up with the Joneses as recent leaked images show a near bezel-less design for the OLED display. Check out the video below for the latest video render of the Nokia 9.
From a previous image leak, it's also clear that it won't feature a physical home button, so it's looking more and more like the phone will come with features one would expect of a 2017 flagship. No word yet on what materials will be used for the Nokia 9's casing.
A couple of cases for the Nokia 9 have been spotted online, from well-known casemaker Tudia and an unknown brand on Gearbest. Both show the device to have a curved display, with the former render being more curved and the latter being more subtle. Previously leaked renders also show a subtle curve, so we'll have to wait for the official reveal to find out how it will look. Until then, check out the renders below. Doesn't it remind you of the trend-setting Samsung Galaxy S series?
According to the tip, the Nokia 9 might have a QHD OLED 5.5-inch display. Excitingly, it could also come with a 22 MP dual lens Carl Zeiss rear camera, with a 12 MP front camera. Plus, it is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 - the same processor used in the just-released Samsung Galaxy S8 - and 6 GB RAM.
This tip has been partly confirmed as the device passed through the FCC. The screenshots posted by the FCC show a display of 5.5 inches, Snapdragon 835 processor, 128GB of internal memory UFS 2.1, rear camera of 12+13MP and front of 5MP. We also find a 3250mAh battery and Android Oreo. As for RAM, we've still only got the earlier tip to go on.
Rumored technical specs
|Display||5.5 inches, OLED, QHD|

|Battery||3.800 mAh, Qualcomm Quickcharge 4.0|

Another thing to note: the Nokia 9 may be the first of its kind to feature Nokia OZO audio enhancements. That means it may be VR-enabled, and able to do 3D audio recording and playback. It is expected to have a large 3,800 mAh battery and IP68 certification.
