While it is not surprising to see unannounced Pixel devices leaking ahead of schedule, Google seems to have had a harder time keeping the Pixel 8a under wraps for several months now before the supposed release window in the middle of 2024.

In an X post by frequent leaker Abishek Yadav, hands-on images revealed the Pixel 8a from numerous angles. It is noticeable how the corners of the device are much rounder when compared to the upcoming Pixel 8. The back portion also showed the familiar and updated camera visor that housed the dual camera configuration and an LED flash. It is unknown if there are changes made to these snappers.

Furthermore, the usual set of buttons appeared to be positioned on the right side while the lower-left side carries the SIM card tray. In front, the display with the same, rounder corners were wrapped in prominent bezels, but it is hard to tell whether these are actually thicker than those on the Pixel 7a. There is also a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera and support for an on-screen fingerprint scanner.

The source added that the device is known by its code name Akita, which we already heard from previous reports and discovered code strings. In addition, it is touted the Pixel 8a will receive a Tensor G3 chipset that will appear first on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Unfortunately, other changes in its specifications and features are still unknown at this moment.
