I have recently noticed that I suddenly no longer see the status of a number of contacts with whom I have not yet exchanged chat messages. Neither "last seen" nor "online".
It is not the case that they all of a sudden deliberately chose to hide their status (see previous privacy setting: choice between nobody, last seen or everyone) because this is SINCELY the case with all those conscious contacts. I also don't see any online statuses anymore, which was the case in the past. Has Whatsapp changed something very recently that hides the status of contacts with whom you have not exchanged messages yet?
