LG G3 Cat.6 — Changing Fonts on LG GE

I have read everything I could find on Changing Fonts in Gmail on my LG G3 Android phone, but no matter what I've tried, it doesn't work. I know this is hardly do-or-die, but the strange thing is that I always used to be able to use fonts, increase size, bold text, etc. Has anyone been able to figure it out? I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know how if you did.

Don't you have to be rooted

I have NO Idea. But I can tell you I don't even know what "rooting" is, IF I'm rooted or not, or how I would go about rooting it anyway.
