Asus
Asus Zenfone 3 and 4 can rejoice at getting Oreo, but there’s been no official support for the earlier lines (such as Zenfone 2) getting Nougat. However, several unofficial ROMs exist that can get you close enough to Nougat if you’re really dying to upgrade.

Google has posted their update plans for the Pixel and Pixel XL on a support page, providing an official guarantee for two years of Android updates (until October 2018) and three years of security updates (until October 2019).

The HTC U11 flagship has received Oreo, and the HTC 10 is soon to follow. The HTC Bolt/10 Evo comes with Nougat out-of-the-box. For those of you who own an unlocked HTC 10 still on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, you needn’t wait any longer. You can update the device directly via the HTC website.

The Mate 9 was the first Huawei phone to come with Nougat, via EMUI 5. But, Huawei has brought Nougat to some of its other devices. Huawei’s version of Android 7.0 Nougat comes in the form of its EMUI skin version 5.0.
Devices not receiving the update to EMUI 5/Nougat include the P8, P8 Lite, Mate S, Shot X and GX8, according to HuaweiBlog.de, which received an official press release on the matter from Huawei Germany.

Lenovo is now running things over in Moto land, but given the near-stock nature of the devices’ software, there is little reason why timely updates should not continue as usual. The rollout of Marshmallow did see some upsetting exclusions, however, but it looks like Lenovo has decided to be a little more proactive with the Moto family for Nougat, and plenty of devices are also slated to get Android Oreo.
Motorola has confirmed that the other devices which will receive the Android Nougat update are: the Moto G Plus (4th Gen) Moto G Play (4th Gen), Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play and the Moto Z Play Droid. They mentioned this was the full list, so if you don’t see your phone here, you’re out of luck. For exact roll out dates for your country and carrier, Motorola updates its software update info here.

The LG V20 was the first smartphone to ship with Android Nougat right out of the box.
Geekbench benchmark results from an LG G3 running Nougat have popped up online, meaning it could come soon. Still not official word on whether owners of this older device will see the update some OTA.
HMD Global’s new Nokia 6 got an update before it even hit shelves in the United States, and Nokia continues their impressive track record with Oreo updates slated for a range of its newer devices.

The new OnePlus 5, which shipped with Android 7.1.1, is going through the beta phase for Android 8.0 Oreo.
The OxygenOS 3.5.8 update is rolling out for the OnePlus 2 now, but sadly, OnePlus has broken its promise to update the device and it will never get Nougat.
As for the OnePlus X, its hardware doesn’t live up to the requirements for Nougat, sadly.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 and Galaxy Tab E
The Galaxy Tab A 9.7 and Galaxy Tab E received an update directly to Android 7.1.1. which will be the final supported version for these devices with no word as to whether they will get any security updates.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo (SM-G903) was spotted on the benchmarking site GFXBench running Android 7.0 Nougat, which means Samsung may be testing the update in anticipation of a rollout. While it’s unconfirmed, this gives a glimmer of hope for all the Galaxy S5 Neo and regular Galaxy S5 users. If you want to get Android Nougat for your S5, check out our article for instructions.

Xiaomi has an inspiring update policy, but, even if the device gets a MIUI update, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it gets an Android version update too. This is the unfortunate case for owners of the Mi 2, 2S, Mi 3 and Mi 4 though, as the hardware doesn’t live up to the requirements for Nougat.
Incompatible smartphones
Nougat supports the Vulkan API for top-notch gaming graphics, and this requires hardware that can support Open GL ES 3.1. Mandatory support of OpenGL ES 3.1 was introduced just before Android 7.0 Nougat was finalized by Google. That means almost all the top phones from 2014 and those with Snapdragon 800/801 are inherently incompatible with Nougat. This includes the Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 compact, Nexus 5, OnePlus X, Moto X (2014), HTC One M8 and the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Unofficial updates via custom ROM

How the hell are you going to say nougat is not compatible with the Galaxy S5? For starters it was when they had common sense and had unlocked bootloaders. So what you do is your root the damn thing comma put on a custom recovery which apparently is a rare thing now. And you can Flash what other operating system you feel like. I gave my old S5 to my daughter who is six and now she is rocking that S7 edge with nougat not to mention all the features that all the foreign companies get. My daughter’s S7 Edge has like 15 more different shortcuts and icons than my S7 Edge does. Not to mention a fully functioning download booster which apparently is people in the US are too fucking stupid to use or our service providers cell towers are so crappy that they can’t actually provide a service like that. If you have a Galaxy S5 go look and XDA for real custom roms that will blow these Samsung shitwizs out of the water. It’s pretty bad when I’m trying to trade my S7 Edge for my old S5. At least then I can customize it. The volume in the speakers on the S7 Edge complete crap. S7 edge and a badass pair of headphones on full blast I can barely hear the music when there’s any background noise and that’s because of course you can modify the system files on the S7 heaven forbid you want your music did not sound like shit. But these phones are so cool and badass That was supposed to be like flies to a bug zapper and not realize all the shit that they’re actually taking away. IOS 8 has any more amped up security Samsung can stick their whole Flagship right up my ass. Is it too much to have Dolby and Beats audio on my phone or do mommy and daddy Samsung think that that shouldn’t work for me. Just the way they think I need 25 Samsung apps and 30 Sprint apps that non-stop run in the background draining my battery. Maybe in a private person and all I absolutely love my phone locked into settings that shares my shit with anybody in the goddamn United States. You go visit one website the checkout one product and then the next week you’re getting ads promoting that same one product that you looked at. And if you want to be grounded or not a friggin leave go ahead and keep buying the new updated samshits. If I wanted my phone locked in fucking toddler mode I would said it that way. When I pay $1,000 for a God damn piece of electronics I would like to think that I can customize it how I want. It’s funny for such great phones you guys have the shittiest audio I’ve ever heard I have to use a fucking headphone amplifier just hear the music over some noise. Until they start unlocking their bootloaders and let people do what they want with their own fucking Electronics I would tell you to go back to an S5 because right now I have Rhymes that will turn it into a Note 7 and S7 Edge and in S7 edge with nougat. Which you can also add on a custom recovery Dolby Beats and Viper. If you ask me the S5 is when they had some common sense and let people make some modifications to their device. Do you want your house to look like every other person’s house on the Block or would you like to customize in a little bit? If the s8 has any security like this S7 I will definitely never owned a Samsung device ever again unless it comes bootloader unlocked. I love how Samsung and their carriers decide which features that I want on my phone. Freedom of choice. I also buy a Windows PC but at least I can change out the operating system and put on Linux if I feel like it since I’m the one that paid $1,000 for it. You treat everybody like clay molds assuming her the same exact people with the same exact taste. Do you know how many people I know use your S Health bullshit. Not one. But apparently it’s a must have app because otherwise that’s just one of the 20 ways that you use to constantly monitor every single fucking person. I root my phone just to add on Dolby and disable all the tracking bullshit you guys slip in my rom. I know this sounds crazy but how about the possibility of letting people control their own fucking devices that they paid a thousand fucking dollars for. And do you guys actually test your products before you send them out the door? I plugged in that S7 Edge to a pair of badass headphones that I have and when there’s any background noise whatsoever I can barely even hear the Damned music. But once I rooted it and put on Dolby beats and Viper it sounded amazing but you can’t have that we’re all little Samsung clones with the same exact interests . apparently. With your track record of making City electronics that are blowing up whether the B cell phones are washers you think you would might take advice from other people. You think it don’t but your shit definitely stinks. If the Galaxy S8 or the Note 8 has this half-assed bullshit security that stops you from making any modifications to my phone I will take that thing and stick it up when you’re Sprint employees asses. I don’t tell you what you want and what you need I don’t expect you to do the same. Besides no one wants your 30 Samsung and 30 Sprint apps running in the background Non-Stop. Call me crazy but what do you think people want a removable battery because they know yours are shit. Not to mention you’re losing a lot of people because of this or someone pays a fucking thousand dollars for something let them customize it the way they want to fucking customize it. Unless they’re modifying it to fucking hack Samsung and Sony and shit then what big of a deal is it? You think you guys just got this fucking perfect phone? Yeah just as perfect is that note 7 grenade you guys call the phone. Get your shit right listen to your people because I guarantee everyone is jumping ship with your Sam shit products. The Lenovo+Motorola ecosystem apart, Lenovo’s standalone handsets such as the Vibe Series ( I own a Vibe K5 Note, an India specific product, a cracker of a fone in its price range, must admit) seem to have been completely forgotten in this update train.
I’ve posted on the Lenovo support website twice, I think, only to have my grouse cooped up with similar grumbles into some sort of forgotten flightless superthread at the dark margins of Lenovo’s android evolution ark. Short of saying,"No Nougat for youse !! If yall think its comin’, you must be stupid, stupid, stupid", Lenovo’s service website has made us Vibe K5 note buyers feel like that queasy cousin-from-the-sticks in almost every way possible.
While its all to common for companies to focus on items that add to their topline, its their value offerings that ensure demand vitality and sustained recall/reorder rates, adding to marketshare. I hope Lenovo’s head is not too far up its behind to smell whats wrong with their update policy (or lack thereof).

so, no Samsung tablet?
I updated my Xperia X Performance (F8132) and now the battery percentage never reads more than 20%. Luckily it actually charges the battery but I can’t tell where it is at all day. I know it worked prior to update because I had to charge the phone to above 50% to complete update and I saw it say 52% when I started update. I’ve read numerous accounts of Apple having this issue but so far haven’t found a fix for androids..just when I bragged these phones up too.
Probably I’m not the first to write this, but this is ridiculous. When Microsoft comes out with a new windows version, nearly all devices can be used to install. The same for Ubuntu, Mint, Linux and others. Why is it not possible to get any android version running on any device. Are they so different? I think the way this OS is distributed, it is done for the purpose to make customers or users to upgrade to a new phone.
The new features in an OS should benefit everybody and not just a chosen few. I believe that there are many people who buy a new phone, just to experience the new features of the latest OS. I call this customer manipulation.
When will get Android 7 for Note 5 Duos SM-N9208?
The honor 5X isn’t getting the update to nougat, or emui 5.0, you’re reading old news. There was, at one time, when honor said it would. The closer it got to the 2 year update policy,they changed their minds, and released a maintenance update that solved bugs mainly( I’ve been following this ever since I bought it). I waited, until late december, when they said no. Well I can get nougat other ways, and I did. TWRP’ed it ,rommed it with aicp rom, now it has 7.1.1 nougat on it. Nougat works very well, better than marshmallow, smoother, more responsive, native floating windows, substratum theme engine( as part of the rom), magisk root manager, etc.. Don’t wait like I did, learn and apply, you’ll be much happier in the end.

LG V10 is very late…why…?
it wasn’t till I switched from an unlocked nexus 5x to a Huawei p9 plus that has been unlocked from its original O2 set up that I realised how poor the update situation is. It seems that, even though this phone is unlocked I still have to wait for O2 to get their ass in gear before I can have Nougat. You’ve got to ask what is the incentive for the networks to issue this update when they know that at least some of us will capitulate and buy a new phone if they drag their feet enough. Meanwhile it would be helpful if you guys could publish an article on when each network will get around to the update rather than repeatedly telling us what the manufacturers are doing, and not just in the USA. I suspect that here in the UK the networks have agreed to synchronise their releases rather than compete to be first.
