Motorola Moto G 4G — incoming call activates phone

i carry phone in shirt pocket turned off. any incoming call or message turns it on, allowing my normal body movements to activate keyboard----inadvertant calls, unwanted connection to web or opened aps. sometimes embarrassing when working with clients.
is there an easy fix.
