Android message app drains battery in three hours at max !!

Well it's kind of a weird problem though i already had my experimentation filtering apps that consume battery and found the following.. my new HTC ChaCha manages the battery life greatly if i use it wisely but when it comes to texting the messages app drains the battery like crazy in three hours maximum :what: !! any clue why is this happening !
