Since ASUS isn't listed as one of the preferred OEMs, I wonder whether Eee Pad Transformer owners will be left in the dust.

Any idea who the preferred oem brands are?

Getting updates isn't always guaranteed. I have a device which runs android 1.6 on a netbook. Although provision is made for updates nothing has come through lately and a manual download comes up with a no connection.

It's probably a subtle way of telling me to move on.

I have my transformer for a month now and the first 'update' it did was from Android 3.0 to 3.1. I didn't had to do anything for this.
A few days ago I checked my device's settings and I noticed that it had 3.2 now. So i can't complain about Asus's updates.-_-

I doubt that we will ever get more than 3.2, I use my Asus pad as a reader only now. 2016 and nothing since 2011.

@bernice. It is fast enough to do other things like going to specific webpages but not fast enough to surf the internet. Forget games, I am not really into them. I use my Win 10 laptop for anything more complex than reading a book. I find the Kindle app to be excellent with it's roundel of books and they appear there once purchased, not that I purchase many as there are so many freebies.
