Manage WhatsApp, Facebook and SMS messages in one app with Drupe

With all the messaging apps now available for your Android phone - from Google Hangouts, to WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and trusty old SMS app - managing them can quickly get chaotic and confusing. Thankfully, a nifty little app called Drupe was recently released in the Play Store, letting you manage all your messaging apps - and send messages - from one convenient place.

(full disclosure: we've never had contact with anyone at Drupe. We just genuinely think it's great)

Once you've installed Drupe, it will collate all your contacts and messaging apps, listing your contacts in a bubble on the left of the screen and icons for your various messaging apps on the right. From here, it's just a matter of dragging a contact into one of your messaging apps to immediately open that app and start writing a message to your chosen contact.

Another feature that will appeal to tidiness freaks about Drupe is the fact that you can condense all notifications from your contacts on your various messaging apps to a single notification from Drupe. This means no more clutter on in your notifications menu.

To have constant access to Drupe, you can set it to display an unintrusive four-dot logo on the left or right side of your screen, which will appear on top of whatever app you have open at that time. This makes it very easy to just swipe in Drupe's list of your contacts and messaging apps, and message away.

It's not often that we heap so much praise on a single app, but manufacturers (and Google itself) are yet to come up with good in-house solutions to quickly and neatly manage the various messaging services on your device. Drupe is designed so well that it almost feels like a stock Android feature, and will bring all your WhatsApp, SMS, Facebook, and other messaging services under control.

The disappointing thing with this App is it requires you to have the other apps installed.

I like hangouts because I can use SMS and Hangouts messages in one place... I refuse to have whatsapp and fb messenger on my phone as it is just additional bloat, however I would like an all in one app that means I no longer need the other apps....

does anyone know of an android app that doesn't require the other apps installed?

I don't have or want the facebook app, but I have the facebook messenger app, and sadly it does not give me an option to use that as a drupe app... that's really what I was hoping for with this app. Am I doing something wrong?

Was reading an articles as well that said you have to have the FB AND messenger apps to be able to access it as an icon in drupe.

Been using Drupe for about 5 weeks on my S6 Edge and it works like a dream. I totally agree with this article, it's awsome!

It's not legal for paid apps. Drupe is free so no worries there. As to not being safe, you won't brick your phone by downloading one apk file. I've downloaded tons and phone is still alive :P

Not compatible with any of my devices, is there an APK link or is this just for the newest devices?

This is just like People Edge on the S6 Edge, even better because you can use different apps ☺ If you want a few more Galaxy S6 (Edge) Features on your phone, check my xda thread called "Some Galaxy S6 (Edge) Features for our S5s :)". I will update thread with Drupe today!
