I'm stuck now with a WhatsApp operating system language..Irish ??. I need to change back to English, but with the incomprehensible language, I can't find my way round the system. I have checked my language on Android settings. This is unchanged..in English.

Whatsapp should follow the language of your phone. I remember there being a language setting in the chat settings but I can not find it anymore. Probably the fastest solution is uninstall and reinstall Whatsapp. If you have a backup preceding the iris transmogrification you should be ok
