hi.

is it possible to root a g4?

tried supersu and suchlike - no joy :(

went to phone repair shops - was told g4 isn't rootable.

it's a crap phone, i know - however, unrootable? really?

That repair shop just wanted to sell you a new phone. I can't believe there is any Android phone that cannot be rooted.
There are many How to videos on YouTube that will explain how to do it.
Try looking up your phone there for rooting instructions!

Found details for the plus version - not 4.
Also, unfortunately, the reply was repeated across a few shops in 3 different countries.

I can not believe it's unrootable as well - hence here asking ;)

Motorola allow their phones to be rooted have you tried king root or kingoroot they are voted the best,
What android version are u running and have you got usb debugging selected in developer mode

yes, I tried all the rooting apps, the apps keep telling me they can not root. :(
