First thing to keep in mind is what is your rom version. Global/China /stable/developer/beta. If may also require unlocking of bootloader. So first make sure what steps you have to follow depending on status of your device and rom. You can find plenty of step by step guides to root your device on YouTube and xda-developers forum.

ANY Android device can be rooted using the following 5 steps.
1. Enable USB debugging
2. Unlock bootloader
3. Install Custom Recovery (i,e. TWRP)
4. Flash SuperSu
5. Check root status
