Hello,
I've recently left apple for android and have a question about app download permissions they are requesting.

I get this message prior to downloading:

"Phone
Read phone status and identity.

Storage
Modify or delete SD card contents."

(This particular request is for an epub reader from the Galaxy App store)

Is this a normal request with Android? Is it safe to download? I didn't get massages like this with apple.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, they are necessary permissions for an epub reader app.
Btw, you'd better get apps from Google Play, which is the top and reliable app store for Android.

Download size < 0.15 MB. But also accurate enough, ad-free & free.
The minimalist app available on Play Store: https://goo.gl/ws42fN

Is this a normal request with Android? YES

There are some apps on android which seem to ask permissions which are not even required yet you cannot do anything except try any other app.

Thank you very much. And you answered my next question whether I should stick with Google Play for apps. Any recommendations for a epub app?
