Google Nexus 5 — Problems with USB debugging

Even when usb debugging is enabled, my device does not provide authorized access to the computer.
I am trying to root using NRT v2.1.0 but it says ' adb device detected but not authorized'.
I reinstalled the drivers but now even the computer fails to detect the device. Please help!!

P.S - My nexus 5 is running on android 6.0.1, build number - MMB29k

I think you need to consult the customer support regarding that.

If the device is shown as unauthorized, go to the developer options on the phone and click "Revoke USB debugging authorization" now try to connect the device with PC.

Tried it, still not working. My device doesn't prompt me to allow authorized access to the PC.
