Interactive android application development for beginner

Hi.

I wish to develop an android based application for final project. My idea is to develop an app for university students that let user view simple notes and answer quiz(like trivia). I wish to make it interactive where the app would play sound every time students get the correct answer. I would like to know is there any good android development tools to develop this app? (other than android studio). And what i have to do in order to make this app interactive?
