When your Galaxy Note 4 gets sluggish, one of the quickest remedies is to clear the system cache. This is done through recovery mode and it's a super easy process. Note: there's a BIG difference between clearing an app's cache and the system cache. I'm sure you can tell one is much more significant than the other. Nevertheless, clearing the system cache doesn't delete any data - it simply smooths things out.

  • Turn off your Note 4.
  • Press Power and Volume Up and Home buttons all at once.
  • When your Note 4 vibrates you can release Power and Home.
  • This will take you to stock recovery.
  • Using the volume buttons to move, select Wipe Cache Partition.
  • Confirm with the Power button.
  • Select Reboot System Now and hit Power to confirm.
  • Your Note 4 will restart with a fresh cache partition.

This simple fix is quite often the easiest way to clear up bugs following an update of firmware. If a particular app is causing you problems, you can go to Settings > Apps and find the app in the list, then select Clear Cache (Clear Data will delete passwords, game progress, messages, settings etc, so do that ONLY as a last resort).

If you continue to have problems, you will want to do a full backup of your important data and then factory reset the Galaxy Note 4.
