Hi!

2 weeks ago I published my new app on Google Play, and first couple of days I go 25 downloads a day, but last days, I get only 1, 2 or even no download a day. App was 3. in Top selling news in education, today it fell to 5. spot. A lot of people like the app, desing and everything. I was putting a lot of work and time in the app, I was happy first days, but now I'm disappointed. I know that downloads will naturaly fall in time, but this? So what am I doing wrong? Do you have any tips to promote the app more?

App is called Science in Pocket, just search "Science in Pocket Serpentcorp". I have lite version without ads too.

Thanks!

Hey man. I get how you feel but google play store is not the only way to attract audience. Dont get me wrong, Im not an internet marketing specialist nor anything similar to that but I know a few things. They are many ways to attract your audience. For starters, you could advertise on AndroidPIT forums in the right sections. I have a hard time copying links and all on the AndroidPIT app but there is a section for it. Social media. A really great source for people to download your app. You could watch other facebook pages for example as for inspiration. Theres nothing wrong with that but obviously you cant blatantly copy and paste it ofcourse. Create a website for your app. You can buy simple but very nice WordPress templates for app landing pages on many websites for less than 20 dollars. I recommend you to search for marketing strategies to make an app known. Your app in this case. I hope this helped for a bit :) Good luck!

Im sorry if I make some mistakes in my grammar and spelling due being on a mobile phone.

Hi Kevin,
of course, I've shared the app on forums and reddit. On reddit it was succesful, and reddit is probably the main reason why I got over 20 downloads a day. But now it's not much. Can I post about paid apps on androidpit? Thanks for all advices, they are really helpful!

My bad about posting the app on these forums. It seems that you can only advertise free apps here. However there are forums out there with only the purpose of advertisement. Advertisement for apps as well. Paid apps obviously get less downloads than free apps. Anyhow, have you tried to advertise your app on facebook pages and twitter accounts? Also your app is very new. Perhaps it needs more time to get known among others. Not everyone is checking daily for new apps. :)

I'll look on these forums for paid app advertisement. What facebook pages do you mean? Some related to the theme of app, some page about android apps or start a new page? I hope it'll raise by time :)

What I meant was to start your own facebook page for your app but also try to advertise your app on other facebook pages where they specifically share/advertise new android apps like your's.

Edit: it will take time though to get many more downloads through social media but if you remain dedicated and put major effort in it, Im sure you will do great :)

Long gone are the times when a simple developer could create an app, just publish it on Play Store and get lots of downloads.
Now if you don't have a marketing team and budget you can forget about this, the competition is too high.
Or you should stop developing for a month and do only marketing and promotion of your app.
Post in Forums, Social groups, Write Press Releases, submit the game to all available markets, localize the app, description, screenshots, spend money on paid adverts etc. etc. etc.
...and in the end you still can fail to make more money than you spent on all this.

Regarding your app, it needs a video that will make people want to install it.
I looked at it and the screenshots are good but it's not clear what the app is about, and I like most people am too lazy to read the description.

I don't know specific forums/facebook pages for that, sorry. You could hold a sale and keep the price down temporary to 99 cents and see how that goes.

Try giving away free promotional codes to bloggers, reviewers to get them to review your app and posting about it.

It varies depending on the app. Since you're a small time dev, maybe the independent bloggers would be more willing to write about your app. You could go on twitter and search for hashtags to see if you can locate these independent bloggers (since they'll probably be writing about other apps), and tweet out to them to write about your app.

Thanks.

Facebook ads is a good way to promote paid app, and there is another way to promote your app on facebook is cooperating with influencers on facebook which is relevant to your app. Influencers are individuals with the power to influence the buying and engagement decisions of a certain group of people. Developing honest, authentic, and mutually beneficial relationships with influencers will go a long way in helping to promote your app. And some other efficient app promotion ways for you

Submit your app to multi-app stores
According to One Platform Foundation, if an app is submitted on other relatively less popular stores, it will increase the expected downloads 200% more compared to Google Play. These are some very good app stores that you should consider: GetJar, SlideMe, Opera Mobile Store, AppsLib, Amazon Appstore, AppBrain.

Improve the Ranking in the app stores
The higher the ranking in the app stores is, the easier the number of app downloads increases. When searching for an app, users often reference the ranking of the app, because this will be a guide and standard to decide if they are going to download the app. Some ways to boost app ranking:
1.App Store optimization.ASO helps to boost your app ranking, be searched and known by more potential users. It's the most efficient way to boost app ranking. You can do it by choosing the right keywords, and adding important keywords in app title&description. If you budget is enough, you can hire a reliable aso company to help u, like ASOTOP1,which can help you boost your app ranking in a short time with aso technique.
2.Gather app reviews and rating. An app which with much more positive reviews and downloads ranks much higher than others.
3.Retention: The number of people who uninstall your app vs. the amount who keep it within 3o days also affects rankings.
4.Backlinks: If you can include backlinks to many relevant pages, you can improve your app ranking.
