In my whatapp groups some strange alphabets and symbols appear on the top of the post and on likes or emojis. I have enquired about it from other members of the group but no body else is seeing them. Is this hack or virus thing ?image

It's possible that the strange alphabets and symbols appearing on the top of the posts and likes/emojis in your WhatsApp groups may be due to a compatibility issue or a glitch specific to your device or WhatsApp version. It's unlikely to be a hack or virus if no one else in the group is experiencing the same problem.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Update WhatsApp: Ensure that you are using the latest version of WhatsApp on your device. Outdated versions may have bugs or compatibility issues that could cause such display problems.

Clear Cache: Clear the cache of your WhatsApp application. Sometimes, cached data can cause display issues.

Restart Your Device: Restart your phone to refresh the system and potentially resolve any temporary glitches.

Check Other Apps: Verify if the issue is specific to WhatsApp by checking other apps on your device. If the problem is only occurring within WhatsApp, it's more likely a software-related issue.

Switch Devices: If possible, try accessing the same WhatsApp group from a different device to see if the issue persists. This will help you determine if it's related to your device or WhatsApp account.

Report to WhatsApp Support: If the problem continues after trying the above steps, consider reporting the issue to WhatsApp support. They can provide more personalized assistance.

Remember, it's essential to be cautious about any suspicious messages or links you receive in WhatsApp, as some hacks or viruses may still be possible through malicious content. Always avoid clicking on unfamiliar links and regularly update your device's security software to minimize potential risks.

It's unlikely a hack or virus. Those symbols might be due to encoding issues or special characters used by someone in the group. Ask the members to update their WhatsApp or try reinstalling it.
