Why do you need a smartwatch?

There's an interesting theory that smartwatches are to the smartphone what wristwatches were to the pocket watch. Picture the way the average gentlemen used to have to rummage through his pocket for his watch prior to the 20th century. Now skip forward 100+ years and the average smartphone user still has to dive into his/her pocket to check their phone.

The kicker now is that your smartphone holds far more information than a pocket watch ever did, yet all of which is still locked into your pocket.

Smartwatches aren't for making phone calls, although some can do this, but instead they provide a quick and easy way to check what notifications are on your smartphone, so you can decide whether it's worth delving into your pocket or searching around your bag to fetch your smartphone or not.

I do not see the utility of a smartwatch, just to impress someone who does not have that. More useful, it seems to me to be a multi-function bracelet, especially for those who do sports or for travellers. But if you have an expensive overpriced costume and a super expensive car, then you must have the most expensive watch: it does not matter the brand, but only the price is bigger. His uselessness is equally great!

Eva
A lot of people like new gadgets just to show off!
Personally I think smart watches are a redundant waste of hard earned money!
Why do you need that tiny little screen on your wrist when you have a larger screen already on your smartphone?
Yes it may be inconvenient to reach into your handbag or your pocket to check your phone!
But hey nobody said smartphones are perfect!
As for myself I find a belt pouch for my phone is convenient enough!

Eva
Here is a good example of what I was talking about.
At my favorite electronics store I noticed one of the phone specialists wearing a smart watch!
We talked about it for a couple minutes.
He told me that he just purchased it. And didn't have a opinion about it yet .
A couple of weeks later I saw him again and he wasn't wearing the watch anymore! I asked him why, and he confessed to me that it turned out to be a real pain in the backside, so he got rid of it!

most of the people are busy in their work or office, and it is not possible to take out mobile phone every time to see notifications of missed calls, messages, social media notifications, etc, so having a smartwatch could save your time, from taking out mobile every time.

Eva, this is a quite interesting theory!

Personally, I use smartwatches to know who text me to know if I should respond now or it can wait, so it saves me time. Besides, it helps me take care of the quality of my sleep and health. So for me, the smartwatch is a useful purchase.

It all depends on the usage, for persons having smartphones you can say it's useless for the persons having a smartphone but for kids & teens these are very handy in fact.

I found a really great place with good quality watches called https://www.swissking.to/ and i was very impressed. First of all they look exactly like the original watch. I bought the Roles SV-1 because I was dreaming about this watch all my life but they cost more than fifteen thousand dollars and it is over my budget. I know that they are not real but i am really glad that i found this replica. For all my friends this watch is original and I will keep it secret forever. I already bought the same watch for my father and my girlfriend. I hope they will never know the truth.

To be honest, I also asked myself once and did not think of an answer. For me personally, smart watches are useless and nothing more than an accessory.

If you are busy then why bother to check any of the notification. While it's on watch or phone?

He is the host of events and thus he keeps track of timings (sees all notifications and reminders), and also monitors sugar (reminders) because he is diabetic

If you are serious about your health, a smartwatch can be very useful. But even if you don't, it is still nice to know how long and well you slept or how active you are during the day. For example, I can now correlate my mood to my sleep.

It looks good on hand, better than normal watches now-a-days but I don't need it as I just want to check how many steps i walked in a day and there is built in pedometer application installed in my smartphone.

For me, alerts are the main reason to buy a smartwatch. Being able to read them without taking your phone out of your pocket or bag is invaluable. It enhances your life and saves time, which is valuable.
