HELP please ^_^

Question

Hi everyone :-) 
I'm trying to get my P20 to restore whatsapp chat history but it won't do it and on top of that after I reinstalled it today it won't let me use my google account for back up :-( 
It says " this account is already on your device" .... any idea ?

first create backup one your old phone

create a manual backup from
WhatsApp > Menu Button > Settings > Chat Settings > Backup conversations.

then restore that backup manually on your new phone
Install WhatsApp.
When asked to restore, tap Restore.
use that file to restore you data

Is the P20 your new phone? Have you made a backup for whatsapp to your google drive on your old phone with the same google account? Have you set this google account on your P20?

Google Drive allows users to automatically back up to cloud storage. Be sure to use the same mobile number and Google Account as the one you created:
1. Uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp.
2. Verify your phone number. You'll then be prompted to resume your chat history from Google Drive.
3. When the recovery is complete, click Next.
Please confirm that the operation is correct, I hope you can restore to your chat history as soon as possible.

yes the P20 lite is my new phone , and yes I've had a back up on my google drive , the thing is I've changed from a " ALBA Phone " to this P20 phone :-( but when I installed Whatsapp it never asked me for the back up :-( 
I did it more than once ... but with no success .. is ther any way to restore manually the chat history ? ..

As you have written that your google account is already on your device its good news for you!
just simply uninstall the application of whatsapp and then goto **whatsapp.com/download/** and reinstall.
verify your mobile number and restore the data from google account, you will get atleast the last backup of your whatsapp.

yep , already done that , it does not work :(  I wanted my  chat history ... and by the way it happened to me again with another phone some time ago ... if you change brand of phone whatsapp won't ask you to restore your back up :-( ..

If you already reinstalled the app, I guess there is some serious issue with the configurations. I would suggest you reset the factory setting and re-login to the system through the Google ID you used for your data backup. I hope It would work.
