Camera pics

I have a Galaxy J5 and she takes good pics but when I upload to my PC all pics seem dark. When viewed in the phone gallery they are fine. I can't see a setting or anything that might account for this.

tbh the pics are bad enough to make me revert to my bridge camera. My other niggle is that the pics are far too large 8m on 4:3 ratio - is there a way of putting in a custom size like 1600 x 800 as that would allow much more space for storage.

I've checked but there doesn't seem to be. Sometimes it takes pics fine but I've found closer shots compared with panoramic seem to be variable. tbh the smartphone aint that great. Battery life being the other bugbear.

No - loads of space.
