Every time I try to download something from Play store I get a pop-up message saying "Google Playstore has stopped working". I did a dumb thing and went in and force stopped it and now don't know how to get it to run again. My phone has never been rooted or anything. Please help as I cannot download anything to my phone. Thanks so much! tami

You should log out from the play store and then login again. It could work.

I am so smartphone illiterate I don't even know how or where to go to logout. Would I just go to Google?

Try to clear cache for Google Play services.

Download size < 0.15 MB. But also accurate enough, ad-free & free.
The minimalist app available on Play Store: https://goo.gl/ws42fN

If you not root your mobile, you can only uninstall previous updates from Application manager and then reinstall it

First turn On and Off your Wifi. If it still doesn't work. Do the following:

Force close Google Play Store - go to Settings > Apps > All and then select Google Play Store from the list and tap Force Stop.

Delete Google Play Store data - go to to Settings > App Manager and then tap on Clear Data.

Lastly, Check and correct your date/time settings

You can uninstall the updates but you can't uninstall the whole Play Store from your device. Factory reset your device and see if it helps.
