Not receiving any verification messages

Help.Ive just switched to a new phone and tried verifying for whatsapp but no code was sent i also tried with instagram to contact my friend but it also required a message which i also didnt receive does anyone know whats wrong? Thanks

If your phone number has not changed, try uninstalling WhatsApp and reinstall.
