I recently had a new phone, and I wanted to have it play FLAC or ALAC or any Hi-Fi music files. I can't afford to get a full PowerAmp. Any recommendations?

Download poweramp apk full version and enjoy the feature and play your music by any versions.

I prefer VLC (VideoLan). Plays just about everything and unlike almost all the others connects easily to uPNP/DLNA servers and Windows shares.

Use Retro Music Player. This is the best music player I have come across. It's description on Playstore

  • Base 3 themes (Clearly white, Kinda dark and Just Black)
  • Gapless playback
  • Volume controls
  • More than 10 Now playing themes
  • Carousel effect for album cover
  • Homescreen Widgets
  • Lockscreen Playback Controls
  • Lyrics Screen(download and sync with music)
  • Sleep Timer
  • Homescreen Widgets
  • Tag editor
  • integration
  • Create, Edit, Import playlists
  • Corner edges like Pixel 2 XL
  • Playing queue with reorder

As for me, I usually use a third-party tool to download music on my computer and then transfer the music to my phone for offline listening. The tool I use is named DRmare Audio Capture, which can download music from many sources on your computer with high audio quality.
