Hi

I recently had a new phone, and I wanted to have it play FLAC or ALAC or any Hi-Fi music files. I can't afford to get a full PowerAmp. Any recommendations?

I prefer VLC (VideoLan). Plays just about everything and unlike almost all the others connects easily to uPNP/DLNA servers and Windows shares.

Use Retro Music Player. This is the best music player I have come across. It's description on Playstore
image

  • Base 3 themes (Clearly white, Kinda dark and Just Black)
  • Gapless playback
  • Volume controls
  • More than 10 Now playing themes
  • Carousel effect for album cover
  • Homescreen Widgets
  • Lockscreen Playback Controls
  • Lyrics Screen(download and sync with music)
  • Sleep Timer
  • Homescreen Widgets
  • Tag editor
  • Last.fm integration
  • Create, Edit, Import playlists
  • Corner edges like Pixel 2 XL
  • Playing queue with reorder

Spotify is OK! You can listen to songs free online, also, you can subscribe to it for more songs. Besides, you can just download songs you like to your computer with the help of Tunelf Spotibeat Music Converter. Once downloaded, you can keep the songs forever, and you can transfer the Spotify songs to any device without any limits.

Dub Music Player (free version) works for me just fine.
Retro Player is not bad too, I must admit. If you want an offline music player, it's nice.
