Hosting for new app

Hi, I'm really new to android development and I was able to create a mobile app. I eventually would like to add it to the play store, but I need some kind of data storage for all photos that would be uploaded by users. This is where i'm stuck and would like some help as to what to do next. Do I purchase cloud hosting with Host Gator or do I need a VPS with a SQL database?

I would appreciate whatever help I can get.

I know a great hosting service, if you still need this info. I used it to create my own website, however I guess, it'll also be suitable for your case. https://hostingfoundry.com/ - for me it's the best hosting service by far. I really appreciate the feedback as you're always provided with all necessary help. By the way, they were the first to explain me how it all works and what type of hosting I need. Moreover, they're available not only in Uk, so it's a great option to consider!
