Samsung Galaxy S5 — tmo galaxy s5 on android 5.1.1 not text messages

I just updated my T-Mobile samsung galaxy s5 to lollipop 5.1.1 and now it is not able to send text messenger from Google messenger. I have tried other messenger apps but with no luck. Do you have any suggestions besides reinstalling or reconverting back to lollipop 5.0.
