@peter have you tried checking for OTA(Over the Air) updates ?? I would say LG have plans to upgrade it to KitKat, I don't know if they have rolled out update or not but I guess you should give it a try by heading over to the Settings>About phone>Update Centre> Tap over the Software Update and check for updates.(thinking) I think update must be available for you as I have tried a little Googling and some users are getting update. Anyway try checking it out ! :)
