Samsung Galaxy Note 3 — Galaxy note 3 hidden items in gallery deleted after update

I received an update notification for the official firmware and went through with it.
After updation everything was the same except my hidden images in the gallery.
All of them deleted except for a video.

Surely there must be a method to retrieve these photos. It is very imp to me.
All other photos are intact and nothing has chnaged except this.
Please help. what should be done?

Well, that was actually very bad :( I think the updating might have cleared out the temporary folders i.e. If you have hidden the file over the .nomedia folder. Anyway try looking at our post made by @Kris (https://www.nextpit.com/how-to-recover-lost-data) I am sure it can help you out in recovering the lost data. (lightbulb)

Thank you for such a prompt reply - greatly appreciated, but I'm afraid I'm not able to do that.
Recuva only scans specific locations or media cards. Since these were hidden on the phone internal memory I can't direct Recuva to pick them up.
The device will need to be connected as a media device.

Is there anyway to connect the Note 3 as a USB mass storage to Windows?
So, that I can try to recover these files.

I knew it. So its not only me. I also updated the software of my Note 3 yesterday, same thing happened, all of my hidden items in the gallery were deleted, excluding the videos. The weird thing is, if you try to hide a picture now, it will not be saved in the hidden items folder, it will be deleted too. Too bad 😣

You cau use Amrev for scan hidden images.

please try this to search for Finding Hidden Pictures on Android in My Files from wikihow. Method 2 saved me!

Same problem happened to me but don't worry , your hidden pictures are still in your phone. Install ES file explorer , and there press menu button at the bottom of your device (the menu and back button) and there turn on 'show hidden files' , and you will see
'.hide' file, there are your hidden photos :)

Im using samsung note 3 mobile.I found the '.hide' file.,but inside all the file names looked as 00,0a,0b like that.i couldn't find any images inside the folder. what can i do after that?
