Hello.
My mom has a galaxy S3 and felt the need to put it back to a factory reset as it was getting slow and she was having problems with her camera. She just set it and tried to restart her phone and it won't turn on. It gets to the screen where it says Samsung and it won't boot up any farther than that.

Thanks for the help!

I am afraid but I think your device needs to be re-loaded, I mean, it needs re flashing of the ROM. Go to the sam mobile website and download the appropriate ROM then with the help of ODIN flash that ROM into your device and your device will start working.

Hey Mary!

Sorry for the delay in responding, hopefully you haven't given up yet.

Here is what I suggest:
Wipe the system cache.
You will have to get into Recovery mode. To do this:
  • hold down volume up + home + power all at once (don't let go too soon)
  • wait until the boot screen comes up and it will says recovery in the top left very small, let go at this point
  • use the volume up and down to scroll and use the home button to select
  • choose wipe cache
  • than choose boot system

This could resolve the issue. If it does't however, then you can use Kies software on your PC to reload the stock firmware that was on your phone when you first bought it. At the XDA developer forum, they give you a step by step way to do this, along with pictures, here.

Best of luck!
