I'm so confused. I need to buy an Android tablet for my daughter. I want one that's not over-priced but not a piece of crap. Please help -- which one is the best for the money. She'll be reading books and such, but she wants more than what the Nook can provide.

I bought the Dropad Android 2.3 4GB 512 Ram and I saw many forums discussed that some program developers will build up to android 3.0, so what do you think?

Have you tried installing Android 3.0 on the Dropad? How much did you pay for the tablet?

You could also look at the POV Mobii Tegra, or the Advent Vega (both the same device, just a different brand). Comes with 2.2 out of the box, but has a very active community over at Modaco, XDA and tabletroms with Honeycomb builds available.

The screen is the biggest disadvantage of the tablet from ebay.
The resolution is just 800X480!!is this clear enough when watching movies or videos??
this tablet with the CPU of PV210, the GPU of powerVR SGX540, can play 3D games, the screen can be at least 1024 X 600!!

So i recommend this tablet, just a little bit more expensive than the ebay one, but high features, and the screen esolution is 1024 X 600.

I think I now get why Android tablets are failing so badly in the market, everyone is buying these pieces of sh*tt tablets. Oh my gosh, I just signed up today and figured everyone would have least spent 200 for Nook tablet. I mean come on guys, you get a dual processor cpu, 1GB Ram, 16GB storage and it's very. very easy to root it and install Android 4.03 on it. I rencently bought a Samsung Galaxy 8.9" for 300 dollars. I know it's not the cheapest in the world but at least I will enjoy it waaay more then these rejects you guys dare call tablets. I'm sorry for being this way but I'm new here and forum after forum are all about these crappy little machines. I don't think this is the forum for me, you people are to cheap.

Charles, I TOTALLY agree. I honestly think folks would do better just saving 10 bucks a week and waiting a month or two to buy a tablet that actually WORKS. We get soooo many complaints on these forums about cheap tablets that just don't work.

I should amend my statement, hilary. There are a number of affordable tablets I think are great, including the Kindle Fire, but once you go under a certain price point (around $80), I think they're more trouble than they're worth. What tablet did you buy?

I suggest jPad.It is the best and cheapest Christmas gift in 2012.Only $79.99 with free shipping by air mail, $95.99 with free shipping by express which takes 3~7 days to reach you. You won't be able to find another one at so low price with free shipping at anywhere else. We highly recommend you select the option of 'Free Shipping by Express'

Haha I agree. A lot of users bash android and sing high praises of the iPad when their android experience is some crappy china tablet. I mean it is like comparing a Mercedes Benz 230E with a Honda Civic. At least compare it with a BMW 5 series.
