Does the fingerprint work well?

I want to ask owners of the latest versions of Samsung: Does your fingerprint work well? Because with me it works just horribly. I'm choosing a new phone right now, and I'm wondering if I should buy a Samsung again, or if I should buy something else.

Select Settings, then touch Biometrics and security, followed by Fingerprints.
Enter your lock screen login information. In order to register your fingerprint, follow the on-screen instructions. the switch next to "Fingerprint unlock" should be turned off.

A friend of mine had this problem with a new Samsung. He took it to a repair shop and it was fine. But I think you can buy it, it's a rare problem.
