Restore old back-up.

Hi, I am trying to restore my WhatsApp back-up. However, I waited a few weeks before I tried to do this and in this time I had been using WhatsApp.
Now when I have installed and went to install my back from Google drive it does not give me that chance and restores the back-up that I have been using in the previous weeks.

Is it just a matter of deleting that back-up and how do I go about doing this please?

If WhatsApp doesn't detect a backup, it could be because:
You aren't logged into the same account.
You aren't using the same phone number that was used to create the backup.
Your SD card or chat history is corrupted.
A backup file doesn't exist on the Google Drive account or locally on your phone.
