Stuck in kid's mode - Oppo Reno Z

I am currently stuck in kid's mode due to my son entering the exit password wrong way too many times - phone seems to of glitched out. I can't try exiting kid's mode or enter any of the apps in kid's mode (detects I am pressing the buttons but won't do anything other than that). I have tried going into recovery mode - did an "online update (keep data) - did not work once the phone loaded back up. I am not experienced enough to choose any of the other options as I do not want to lose photos on the phone (even after countless hours of searching on google). The phone is an Oppo Reno Z. Just wanting some advice on other things I could try via recovery mode as that is the only thing the phone is able to do. I don't believe I have lost any data because my phone has gone into quiet mode - only does this at specific times and I am still connected to my wifi.
