Hi folks,

My smartphone's screen freezes regularly, it's not only an app but the whole system.
Then it shuts down after a couple of seconds and won't start up again.
At the beginning re-inserting the battery fixed the problem but sometimes even this doesn't work and I have to wait for hours or even a day before it starts up again.

I also did a hard reset and directly after the reset a couple of minutes later the same problem.

It looks like it's getting harder every time to make it start up again.
I have also bought a new battery but to no avail.

The phone feels warm, but not hot, this should be normal.

Just watched YT on my phone for 30min in fullscreen mode.
After exit of fullscreen mode it got frozen again and shut down after a couple of seconds....hm.

I thought of re-soldering the chip pins and incorporate some copper heat sinks, but I guess it's not related to overheating..?

What do you think?

Have you run a scan for viruses or malware yet?

Yes I did a scan just a couple of minutes ago using Kaspersky Antivirus and Malwarebytes.

Ok I could get my phone to start up again!
So what did I do.
Nothing special, I sat on my phone for 10 minutes.
It looks like, it only starts when it reaches a certain butt temperature.. (laughing)

Not sure what this can be ??! I have disassembled my phone, I can upload the pics, if someone wants to take a closer look at my phone's entrails.

Butt seriously folks!😁
The only thing that comes to mind is...
Has your device been exposed to any extreme temperature changes or any kind of damage?

it's a hardware problem I guess. Maybe due to heating.
Are you using the orginal Charing cable?

@Lindsay: Exposed to extreme temp...not that I am aware off. It has a broken display that's all.
@Sanjai: Yes, the original fast charge cable. It charges very quick.

Yesterday I did a bit of research and now I know how to turn on my phone again.
I have to press the Power and "Volume Down" button, but I think only Power button will be enough for a minimum of 30 sec, re-insert the battery and it will boot up.

With this information provided, what could be the cause. It really doesn't feel hot at all.

If it's a hardware problem, how is it possible that I can start it up like this?
Is it repairable? I guess it's not the CPU or GPU chip..
I know nothing about electronics, but the second picture looks strange, it's a cover on the other side of the cpu.

That part you showed in the second picture looks melted!
That is probably the problem!

Hm, it's working again, since about 6h without a problem.
Hardware problem?

For example, if my bike's wheel or the chain drive is broken I could not drive anymore, not now and not later, if I don't replace the broken hardware.

Why should a phone be different?. I would expect that it doesn't work at all...
Very strange.

But I see, no hardware experts around ;-)

Thanks for your help!

Your bike is a mechanical device.
Your phone is a electronic device.
BIG DIFFERENCE!

And I do have some training in electronics.
It only a matter of time before that phone stops working completely.
Anyway... take care!
