Goal notifications stopped working

I used to get the notifications about approaching and completing goals but this randomly stopped a couple of weeks ago (not sure when exactly) and I have not been able to get them back.
I've checked the settings many times and all looks well - goals are set to notify with sound and fit is set to allow notifications.

Any ideas on what to check? Should I try uninstalling and reinstalling Fit?

I don't have a wearable yet so this is just an issue with the Note 9

Instead of uninstalling then reinstalling,
You might try clearing all data on the app
The re-do your settings on that app.

Your fit app may have been updated.
And that could have turned off that notification.
