Take days to backup whatsapp and still not complete.

Hey guys, anyone of u having problem when backup the whatsapp? Recently i want to change a new handphone. While doing the whatsapp backup, it takes long time to process. I had doing the backup for few days and yet still couldnt finish. i even deleted some chats and transport out the images :( the backup size keeps increasing from 9gb on my first day of backup (6 days ago) and now already 17gb (only 6 days after). any advise please? really appreciate. I wish to change to new hp asap.

Did you do the backup to google drive? If then, are you sure about the internet performance and available space on your google drive?

Thanks for ur replied. Yes to gdrive. I even try other networks, its still can't run completely. Whole day only 2%~. I did space out my gdrive & hp too.
