Let me start this by stating what I know.
The model no is SM-G955U
Carrier is US Cellular
I am using the OEM cable
I do not have the serial number
I cannot unlock the bootloader.
USB Debuggin is enabled.
I tried rooting the phone a while back, I can't remember what tutorial/rom.
I ended up softbricking it then, I just used ODIN to flash the stock firmware, and it fixed itself.
I was trying to use this tutorial:
[V2][Update][Root][G955U]PartCyborgRom - SamFail Rooted/Debloated/Audio/More
(Can't post link because I am a new user"
To root the phone.
I was following the tutorial to the T, USB 2.0, AP first. It failed, without saying "Unknown error", I tried redoing it. Same thing.
I downloaded the stock firmware to fix it, and it still failed.
Now I get a blue screen with a cautionary symbol, and the words:
"An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software."
I tried this method, however, I do not have the serial number, so I cannot use this method.
I am running out of ideas, and I need my phone back soon. Any suggestions will help.
