Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge — Samsung galaxy s6edge phone case

I'm new to this site so not sure if I'm posting this question in the correct area but I've bought a new flip case ( not a cheap one.a good quality leather one) with a magnetic closure so it doesn't pop open in a bag. anyway when I put it on my phone the nfc symbol comes on even tho it's off in the settings. it only happens when the case is on. I read on internet that the magnet in case is causing this. something to do with the magnetic field. love the case but removed it for now cause I'm wondering if this will cause damage to my phone or cause battery drain ect.

Ok thanks. I just think it's strange that the case pulls the nfc symbol on my phone. I go in settings with case on and it is set to off. even thou the symbol is on my screen. Then remove the case and nfc symbol goes off
