I am not very techy and need to connect my tablet to the TV to watch video. It is a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 and I bought a micro to USB connector as advised. It won't fit into my tablet and I dont know the correct name for the cable I need. Any ideas please?

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 does not have an HDMI port. So, you need a HDTV adapter and a universal HDMI cable.
The HDTV adapter connects the tablet directly to the HDMI port in a TV.

That is so helpful, and explains why I have been unsuccessful in trying to find this. Have you any idea where is best to buy these items, and what connector I need to ask for for the Samsung?

The full name of the HDTV adapter is 'MHL 2.0 HDTV Smart Adapter'.
I think you may go to a local Samsung Store nearby to buy a HDTV adapter as well as a universal HDMI cable. Or you can place an order for them on amzon or ebay.
