Spreadsheet problem on my Moto G using Quick Office v 6.5.1.12

Two issues (so far...)

I created spreadsheets both on the phone and on my PC. They both show up in the phone Downloads folder but remain grey. I cannot activate either one on the phone. A word document, with the same creations work fine so I am sure my process is good. I was able to create a spreadsheet in the past but could not figure out how to sort a column. Now I cannot create one at all.

Also, is there any way to eliminate the AutoMiscorrect? It is always changing what I enter and I have to go back and edit the change. It also takes up valuable screen space.
