Need To Reinstall Via PC - Tried all other Resets on Tablet Samsung 2 10.1

We have a Samsung Galaxy 2 10.1 tablet. We have tried hard resets multiple ways. Nothing will wipe the drive. It might totally be dead as we have received CMOS/UI and other errors. Though it still operates, turns on and sometimes lets us it . My last effort I would like to wipe it using my PC, it is plugged in now. Where do I get the software and has anyone written a "guide/FAQ" on doing this you trusted. We are doing so at our own risk. Everything important has been backed up. I want to do a clean install/reformat if possible. Found a few guides on Google but all make different suggestions. Is there one you had success with? Can you link it?
