Hello fellow forum people!

So here's the thing: I know my phone is bound to get Android N before the new year. However, the "problem" is that... I'm skipping Marshmallow on purpose because I prefered Lollipop on my phone.

Question is, can a phone still go from Android 5.0 to 7.0? What do you think? Or do I need to run Marshmallow to even get a notification about Nougat?

Some devices skipped 5.1.1 and were updated to 6.0. Depends on which model it is and what they want to do to it. An example:

Sony did not give 5.1.1 to C4, C5 Ultra, M4, M5 e z3+ .... They were all 5.0.2 and now z3+, m4 e m5 have 6.0.1.

But if your phone were listed to get 6.0 or 6.0.1 you need to install before getting the 7. Your phone has to run the latest firmware available for it.

I can suggest you to wait until you know the model of your phone just got the 7, so you can install the all firmwares of MM, then you get the 7.
