how to properly handle recycling of views in gridview

I'm trying to create custom gallery using gridview.

gridView recycling of views is creating problem. if i select an image and scroll down, some other images are selected. how to solve this problem. how to properly handle recycling of views and restore the state of existing views when the gridView is recycling views.

gridview does not recycle views. actually it reuse views.
if you have 100 images, but the screen size can only display 10 images . there are max 10 views in the gridview, it reuse those 10 views.
i hope you understand what i mean.
