How to import old SMS messages from SIM card to phone?

How do I import my old SMS messages from the installed SIM card onto my phone proper so that they show up in my default texting app(s)?

I've tried a variety of apps but the best I can do is see the SMS messages in that one app only; I want to add them to the same place as my other messages so that there's no difference between the old and the new.

Vodaphone Smart Prime 7
Android 6 Marshmallow

All help is appreciated.
NB: I am not interested in getting contacts, just the text messages. Thanks.

To import/export to phone, we can use an android file manager to help.

First , you need to transfer messages from Android to computer , as i know , if the messages is stored on computer , you can transfer them to any device from computer , all i know , Mobiledic Android phone transfer is a good transfer tool ,you can transfer messages , notes ,pictures ,videos , music , contacts from Android to Android /iPhone /computer ,
