Phone: S5, Verizon (PagePlus), not rooted, version 5.0

The problem: When called, the proper ring tone sounds for a very short time and then stops (sounds "funny" as it stops). Then, after a brief pause, it will go back to ringing again. This cycle repeats for as long as the phone is ringing. It has not always done this. I can provide an .mp3 of what the weird ringing sounds like.

Sorry, but I do not know the last thing I did to the phone before the problem started.

What I have tried: I have tried restarting the phone, changing the ring tone, etc. with no effect.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,
Ring sounds can stop then voice control is enabled. Go to Settings - My device tab - Call - Answering/ending call and turn off Voice control.

Outstanding! That works!

However, on my S5, that option is not available through the main "Settings" icon. You need to bring up the "Phone" app and then:
Menu button / settings / Answering/Ending calls
Then uncheck the Using voice commands box. Done.

Thanks again
