Motorola Moto G (2014) — moto g 2014 text messages or emails won't play thru car bt

AIgot my new moto g 2014 a few weeks ago and the first time i paired it in my car bt it read out text messages aloud through car bt. then that stopped working. i just never see the notification on my car screen that i have a texc or email and it is never read aloud. tried deleting bt pairing from phone and car and repairing, but same result. alos the same with 5.02 and 6.0 (6.0 installed 2 days ago.)
